Ground equipment is in transit stored in:
1. truck KrAZ 214 (instrument car – length of 9.6 m and a weight of 18.6 t) and
2. two-axle trailer (weight of 18.8 t)

Composition:
3. Omnidirectional azimutálně dálkoměrný vor
- Transmitter P-200M with a power of 150 W, 40 working channels in the band 905,1 – 932,4 MHz;
- transmitter P-20D with the power pulses min. 40 kW, 40 working channels in the band 936,6 – 966,9 MHz ;
- transmitter P-20A has a 40 frequency channels and the minimum impulse power of 40 kW;
- receiver NPU,
- the receiver of the NPO
and a set of antennas: – azimuthal, retaining the signals, the transponder range finder, the main and auxiliary receivers NPU and NPO)

- Control the portable device (KVP) with the antenna system
- Surveillance indicator (IKO)
- Connecting the radio RSIU-4 /R-801 (s diskokuželovou antenna)
- Generator DOG-6 (3x 208 V/400 Hz), input power 26 kVA

The reach of the system is dependent on the height of the aeroplane and makes at a height of 250 m above 35 km, at a height of 3,000 m above 200 km, at a height of 5.000 m is the range over 250 km.

Servicing consists of: 1 officer, 2 warrant officers and 12 soldiers of the basic service.
Time for deployment is 3 hours.

System RSBN is designed primarily for bombing, fighter-bomber and shoot-ter aircraft and ensures navigation of the aircraft equipped with on-board equipment RSBN-2S, or its modifications (RSBN-5S, RSBN-6S).
The system provides for all weather conditions in day and night: Continuous information to the aircraft crew about the position of determining the polar coordinates of the aircraft (azimuth, distance) on the ground and on board, bringing the aircraft to any specified point (goal) in the zone of range of the radio beacon with the indication (with alarm) a few approaches and a few of his overflight, ground control of the air situation on the overview screen (IKO/VIKA), determining the coordinates and identification of aircraft on the screen, which make use of the system, the correction of autonomous computers of the flight track and the automatic years and also the connection with the aircraft.

The system is composed with the on-board and ground equipment.

Brief description of the activities:
a) Determine the oblique distance – used with impulse radio range finder with the principle "Inquiry – Answer" from the deck of the aircraft
b) Determining the azimuth – used azimuthal transmitters (azimuthal rotation antenna is in the protivětrném cover )
c) Determine the coordinates on the screen – used principle of the query from the ground and answers from the decks of the aeroplane. The position of the azimuthal orientation of the antenna towards the north is derived from the “180“ after the 2°.
d) Identification of the aircraft – is performed by sending a command to the pilot. He presses the button "Opoznavanie" and the IKO (VIKO) is the brand of the aircraft will be "duplication".
