Laffly W 15T gepanzerte Ausführung

Laffly W 15T armored version

After the occupation of France by German troops in 1940, a number of artillery tractors were captured Laffly W 15 T. In the following period, these served the new owners well both in their original purpose and for conversions to armored vehicles. As part of the Schnelle Brigade West, armored personnel carriers using this design were deployed. The origins of the reconstructions were probably in Baukommande Becker, which dealt with reconstructions of captured French machines. According to Spielberger, 24 pieces of this vehicle were produced. There are a minimum of photos capturing this vehicle. The two most famous photographs show conversions on both the original six-wheeled and modified four-wheeled chassis (one axle removed?).
The creators apparently used the shape and possibly parts from the German half-belt transporter Sd.Kfz.251. The design nodes and TTD more or less match the French tractor Laffly W 15 T.
