15Ja55 (15Я55) - the opinion of the object protection shift supervisor (МДСО - машина дежурной смены охраны)
Машина Дежурной Смены Охраны on a MAZ-543V chassis (МАЗ-543В). One of the means of automated object protection, together with the 15Ja56 (15Я56) on the BTR-60PB chassis. There are several versions of the means, besides the basic one (MDSO, on the MAZ543V chassis) and the modernized modification on the MAZ-543M chassis.
The means is designed to ensure the performance of duty and life of the supervisory shift for the protection and defence of objects in field conditions (as a rule, the position of mobile missile assets). The compartment provides performance of duty and rest for 16 persons (4 compartments of 4 persons each) with personal belongings and armament. There is space in the means for maintenance and drying of clothes and shoes. The design allows working in all seasons, day and night and in any meteorological conditions (rain, snow, storm) at temperatures from -50°C to +50°C, relative humidity up to 98% (at 25°C) and wind speed up to 25 m/s.
