Special trailer for the transport of long loads SPDB-40 is designed for the transport of long and heavy loads on roads of all classes, on maintained field roads and in load-bearing terrain. Its equipment enables safe transport day and night and in all weather conditions. Its main user is the Railway Army, which uses it, for example, to transport the HKJ-35 - hydraulic rail crane.
SPDB-40 is composed of two separate two-axle bogies, connected during transport by a transported load.
Front chassis: it is based on a frame on which the load is placed. Steering, suspension and transverse pivoting half-axles with wheels and tires are connected to the frame by means of a system of rocker arms and beams.
Rear chassis: identical to the front, in addition it is equipped with a driver's cab, from which the independent directional steering of the chassis, the rear chassis brakes, lighting and signaling between the drivers are controlled. The steering wheel is equipped with a pneumatic booster. The entire cab can be folded down laterally when loading.
The air pressure system is designed as a two-hose direct-acting pneumatic brake system for trailers, complemented by independent control of the rear chassis brakes from the driver's cab.
Max. load capacity: 60 t
To tow the SPDB-40 you need:
- either two T-141 tractors - one at the front, the other at the rear as a push.,
- one T-813 tractor.
Average speed: from 15 to 30 km/h - depending on the weight of the load, the road surface, inclines, weather conditions, etc.
