Light armored car BA-64B/ B- ronirovannyj A-votmobil on the base of GAZ-64[/baa]/. Conceptually it was based on the BA-64 but combat deployment required to increase the stability of the car. From October 1942, the chassis of the GAZ-64 was replaced by the proven GAZ-67B all-terrain vehicle chassis. The car was widened by 16 cm. It was produced from 1942 to 1946. A total of 8,147 vehicles of various versions were produced / without turret, with the possibility of driving on rails, in deep snow, command version, etc./ In 1944, a 12.7 mm DŠK heavy machine gun was fitted into the turret on a trial basis. The BA-64B was still in service with the Soviet Army as a training off-road vehicle in 1953. Reportedly, 10 cars of the BA-64B version were delivered to the Czechoslovakia, which ended their service in the units of the Border Guard.

The machine gun turret was located in the vehicle's axle. The turretless version was used to transport 6 armed soldiers.
