Lieutenant, Flight Lieutenant Karel Balík


He obtained a civil pilot diploma in the West Bohemian Aviation Club Pilsen,
06.06.1922 - voluntarily enlisted in the 1st Air Regiment at the airport Praha-Kbely
xx.03.1924 - in the rank of corporal moved as a teacher of flying, Učiliště pro letectvo Cheb
xx.02.1925 - Squadron 31, Air Regiment 3 - MR Stefanika, Nitra
06.06.1925 - goes to the reserve as a sergeant
1927-1939 - flew as a captain at the Czechoslovak Airline
until 1938 - completed 3 exercises and mobilization
August 22, 1939 - fled to Poland
25.08.1939 - presented in Krakow
August 29, 1939 - joined the Polish Air Force
September 4, 1939 - a member of the first Czechoslovak air unit - Gora Pulawska Airport near Pulawe, later fell into Soviet captivity
24.10.1939-20.06.1940 - interned in Glinsk and Oranky
June 26, 1940 - sailed from Odessa to Istanbul
27.10.1940 - arrived in Liverpool
11.11.1940 - accepted into the RAF as a flying and transport pilot
03.12.1940 - assigned to the 4th FPP in Kemble
15.03.1941 - transferred to the service unit of the 9th MU in Cosforde
03.11.1941 - RAF base in Prestwick, made 5 transallantic flights
April 5, 1942 - the first Czechoslovak transatlantic flight with a stopover in Greenland together with Josef Hubáček and landed in Prestwick on April 10 1942,
December 18, 1942 - transferred to the 24th Transport Squadron in Hendon where he was with breaks until the end of the war
18.02.1943 -14. March 1943 - Supply of besieged Malta
March 1, 1946 - Air Force Lieutenant in Reserve
January 8, 1946 - demobilized and joined as a captain at CSA
During the inaugural flight Prague - Paris, when he returned, he came across an incorrectly marked excavation
05.03. 1946 - dies in the Prague-Břevnov Hospital
