Bücker Bü 182 Kornett

The aircraft was created as a sports aircraft, but the company assumed that the developing Luftwaffe would accept it into service for pilot training.
It was an all-wood low-flying aircraft with a fixed landing gear, which was powered by a Czechoslovak Walter Mikron II engine. The first tests of the new machine with the civilian license plate D-ERDG confirmed very good flight characteristics, the machine was fully acrobatic, allowed to imitate a dive flight and could even drop small bombs.

For the planned series production, the company began to develop a new, more powerful M 700 engine with an output of around 59 kW. Aircraft with these engines were to bear the designation Bü 182 B and C and began production of the first three pieces. At that time, however, the command decided that the concept of a single-seat training aircraft does not suit and did not order the series. The divided aircraft were therefore cut, in addition, a single flying prototype was destroyed in an accident.

At that time, however, they were already working for the company on the Bü 181 aircraft, which was being built in series.
