Nemecké jednotky v Trenčianskych Tepliciach

Diskuse

Some time ago I caught on the forum that someone was looking for information about German troops stationed in Trencianske Teplice during WWII.

I accidentally came across some data regarding this issue.

Late October 1944, the headquarters of SS-Jagdgruppe 232 and its II and IV platoons moved from Sekul to Trenčianske Teplice, from where they undertook anti-partisan raids up to a distance of 60-70 km. They undertook these actions disguised as partisans or as rebel soldiers, exactly on the model of the then defunct Abwehr special division "Brandenburg", in an attempt to obtain information about the movements of the partisans from the civilian population.

SS-Jagdgruppe 232 was, together with Abwehrgruppe 218 "Edelweiss" and the units "Schneewitchen" and "Kysucká Garda", part of the SS-Jagdeinsatz Slowakei

The commander of SS-Jagdgruppe 232 was SS-Obersturmführer Dr. Walter Pawlovsky. His deputy SS-Oberscharführer Ing. Kurt Werner Tutter, had been with the Special Division "Brandenburg" since 1 January 1943 and participated with it in actions in Norway, North Africa, Italy and Hungary.
