Endurance: 4 hours 33 minutes

The KR-2 was a redesign of the KR-1 with the intention of improving the speed and range of the KR-1 with the same engine and aircraft weight. In an attempt to achieve this, the lower wings were reduced in span by 7ft 10.5in and upper and lower wings were given curved tips. These changes reduced the wing area from the KR-1's 236.813sq ft to 190.312sq ft. The top wing no longer had the 3-degree sweep back of the KR-1, and the trailing-edge cutout above the cockpit was eliminated. Ailerons were fitted to both wings and interconnected. As a result of the changes cruising speed was increased by 13mph, and range extended by approximately 62 mi and there was a slight increase in payload. Originally, the KR-2 was equipped with a sideopening canopy for the pilot, but
this was changed later to an open cockpit like that of the KR-1. The prototype KR-2 was first flown at Haneda on 17 November, 1934. As expected, the take off and landing distances were greater and the rate of climb not as good as the earlier aeroplane's. While in production the Navy showed an interest in the aeroplane as a liaison transport after certain modifications were made in the flying control surfaces. The KR-2 was an excellent 150 hp class light passenger aeroplane in general performance. It won a good reputation because of economy of operation and suitability for its intended task.

Brief history:
In Japan in the early thirties of the last century, the flying civil transport aircraft Chidori-Go, the model did not fly served for tourist flights or for the transport of three persons, or cargo to a weight of 225 kg. Produced to small company Tokyo Gasu Denki and the total was built a few dozen aircraft.

At the time of the fighting in China needed a naval force for your units on this battlefield connecting and courier aircraft. In 1935 adopted the aircraft Gasuden Chidori-Go into your loadout with the designation of "Marine light transport aircraft", or in abbreviated form LXG1. Then nothing will hinder further purchase of these small transport aircraft, today is already about undetectable how many of these aircraft naval air force purchased. The Factory Of The Tokyo Gasu Denki To. To. teamed up in 1939 with a larger company Hitachi Kokuki Kabushiki Kaisha and so has the designation letounku on the Hitachi LXG1. The allied intelligence service that nepočetnému aircraft assigned the code name Plover II.
