From its predecessor the bayonet of the 1890s. differs in the direction of the blade cut and the smaller diameter of the ring hole.
A straight blade of wedge cross-section with a double-sided upward-pointing cut, passing into a central point at the end.
Handle is bristle, smooth, usually made of walnut wood, fastened with two rivets. Straight single guard with ring. The guard usually bears the weapon number and the muzzle the unit designation.
Iron seam finished with a ball. Hook for attaching a leather belt sling.
