After basic schooling he trained as a car mechanic at the vocational continuation school.

1930 - 1932 he graduated from the school for professional youth air force in the VLU in Prostějov -
pilot a two-seat aircraft

may 1934 - June 1934 course for fighter pilots in prostejov

1.7.1934 transferred to 91. night fighter squadron of the Air regiment 6, Prague - Kbely
