Fiat G.12C

History:
Development began for the Avio Linee Italiane (ALI), whose majority owner was a company Fiat, in march 1939. The development led by Ing. Giuseppe Gabriel, who designed the aircraft for 14 passengers. ALI ordered 15 and the second Italian airline Ala Littoria six planes and it still pre launch of the first prototype, which first flew 14.10. 1940. In that time, the war was raging and the whole order took over the Italian air force. Test and production, however, initially took place rather slowly, after the intervention of the air force, everything sped up. The prototype and the first serial piece was in August 1941 transferred to the state 147. transport groups and transported troops and supplies to Sicily and to north Africa.
All other aircraft were made in version G.12T, which have been adapted for the carriage of 22 soldiers and were armed with two machine guns caliber 7.7 mm in the side windows. The end of the year 1941 began the first machines to take over and the company ALI, which is deployed on routes to Portugal, Romania, Greece, etc. Of the type shown interest and several other airlines, and thus came version G.12LGA and high-rise engines of the Alfa Romeo 126 RC-34 and G.12GA with enlarged tanks, which contain up to 10900 litres. All of these aircraft, however, took over the military air force, version of GA was used as a tanker to transport the fuel to Africa.
For line ALI to the Japanese occupied Rangoon there was a version Grams.12RT and RTbis engines Alfa Romeo 128 RC-18 (860 k) and tanks for 13055 liters of fuel. And these machines eventually serve to transport the fuel.
After the surrender of Italy in September 1943 seized 20 aircraft of the Luftwaffe and included them in their transport units. At the same time ordered to resume production type. Two pieces were used by the Allied Italian air force in the south of the country.
A total of six specimens were delivered to Hungary.
Total for the war was established 73 pieces.
After the war production continued, and thus the version of G.12AC, TA, L, LB, and LP, which differ used engines. Use of both military force and civilian airlines.
