- A special and still well kept secret chapter in the history of ground - airport security units is the JZU (Special Purpose Units) or "S" companies. These units in the framework of the Czechoslovak Army were called "ZZ" units. Army were created in 1962 and served for ground security of air units of the 57th Air Army of the Transcarpathian Military District of the Soviet Army, moved to the territory of Czechoslovakia in times of emergency measures.
At first, there were three liaison companies and 10 so-called airfield and RTZ companies, renamed in 1963 as airfield and RTZ "S" companies. They were subject to a special regime and their inspection was carried out directly by "representatives of the Combined Command VS". These were more like table-top units with minimal numbers - after topping up to 'wartime' table-top numbers with 'stored equipment'. They had their codename VU.

01.09.1965 it was reorganized into 23rd Airport Company "S" Žatec
and a separate 5th Radio Technical Security Company "S"- No.00100-OMS-1965.
