V období 1.republiky sídlo politického a soudního okresu.


Sčítání lidu v roce 1930: 5 068 obyvatel (z toho 4 400 osob národnosti československé, 517 osob národnosti německé, 9 osob národnosti polské a 6 osob národnosti židovské).


Posádka byla ustanovena v prosinci 1920. Zrušena v srpnu 1937 (od ledna 1921 do července 1937 neobsazena).


Jednotky nebo úřady umístněné v posádce:
Hrubý dělostřelecký pluk 108 (srpen 1920 – prosinec 1920)
Hraničářský pluk 4 (od srpna 1937).


Letech 1936-1938 byly ve městě postaveny kasárny.

Tomb of the family Wetekampů

The tomb is located in the grounds of the former cemetery. Stone, unplastered building on a square plan in the empire style from the year 1898.
