Christie Model 1923
The Model 23 was created by adding a fourth unpowered axle to the Model 1922, giving the vehicle an 8x4 concept.
In addition to testing on the Hudson River under the supervision of the US Army, this vehicle was also tested by the US Marines. It was dropped from the USS Wyoming and tested for sea and beach landing behavior. Armament consisted of the M1897 75 mm howitzer or 37 mm cannon.
The photo clearly shows the rear wheels connected by roller chains. It dates from November 1923, when it was demonstrated to army officials.
