The vehicle was a further development of XM147 Superduck and XM148 Gull.
The design introduced the GMC in 1956. The vehicle was powered by a pair of motors GMC model 302-55 through pairs of transmissions Allison CTP-4 Powermatic. To drive on the water served a pair of folding screws. The hull was waterproof welded structure made of aluminum alloys. Round a central top-up.
The vehicle never exceeded the stage of the experiment..
