The M.39 hand grenade was developed from an older WWI grenade (model 1917) in response to the requirement to carry a larger quantity of grenades than the then common M.24 grenades. It measures approximately 8 cm in height and 5 cm in diameter at its widest point. The fuse is of type BEZ 39 (Brennzünder Eifer 1939 ), i.e. friction type with delay fold. The fuse was made with several lengths of initiation, which corresponded to the colour of the "knob" that releases the grenade before throwing, Red had a delay time of 1 s, blue 4.5 s, yellow 7.5 s and grey 10 s. Grenades were painted grey-green or yellow-ochre, Late 1944 versions with a pre-fragmented jacket (there are engraved squares on the jacket) appear but are rather exceptional. The shell is made of two mouldings of thick sheet metal joined in the middle by a fold. Rarely, there are also variants with an eyelet at the lower end of the grenade that could be hung on a carrying strap; these versions were produced after 1942.

Nemáte někdo okótovaný výkres k tomuto granátu? Nebo nevýte kde ho získat Chtěl bych si udělat dřevěnou kopii. Za případnou radu předem děkuji
