KBT - 7 (Komandirsky) was created in prototype in 1937. Tanks modified in this way were to serve the commanders of tank units. The machine was to be equipped with two radio stations, near RTU and 71-TK-1 longer range. The TASP signal device was to be used for connection with the air force, the antennas were rods. The STS light signaling device was used to signal orders to subordinate units. It was possible to erect two signaling flags measuring 190 x 60 cm on the fenders. Four headlights on the roof of the superstructure were to provide signaling to their own aircraft at night.
