Pro jednotnost byly použity především údaje z knihy Kroschela a Stützera, magazín Flight uvádí rozpětí 56 stop a délku 32 stop. Existovaly minimálně dvě podoby, s předním kokpitem (pro pozorovatele) přímo za motorem, takže gravitační nádrž byla umístěna mezi kokpity (ne ale vždy), a s předním kokpitem až na úrovni odtokové hrany horního křídla. jak ukazuje Quatího fotka, tato druhá podoba byla pravděpodobně určena jako cvičná a vybavena dvojím řízením.

DFW Mars single/biplane two-seater training and observation aircraft
The Deutsche Flugzeugwerke company from Leipzig created its first own type, the Mars, in 1912 (it had previously built copies of Farmans and Nieuports). This first piece was still a monoplane, from which, however, was immediately developed a biplane with the same fuselage, landing gear and tail surfaces. In 1912, the type was introduced into the armament of Germany and Turkey. It was used during the Balkan Wars in 1912 and 1913, at Ottoman. Silahl & # 305; The Kuvvetlers, the Turkish Armed Forces, served two pieces, but flew with German pilots. One was stationed in Chorlo, one was destroyed by the wind in Galipoli. Another machine was sold to England in 1913. In 1914, one was sold to the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS), where it was given the number 154. It was located in Eastchurch, but after the start of the war it was moved to Immingham so that it would not be confused with German aircraft over southern England. During a flight in 1914, he once had to land on a racetrack in Scarborough due to problems. One piece perhaps also served in the Air Force of Austria-Hungary.
