SOV - TVNO-2

Infraďalekohľad
The TVNO-2 infrared binoculars are designed for drivers of infantry fighting vehicles to observe roads and terrain while driving at night.
The operation of the infrared binoculars is based on the principle of invisible infrared radiation. The terrain and objects in front of the vehicle are irradiated by the infrared rays emitted by the searchlight through an infrared filter. The invisible rays strike the objects and then return back to the observer. The upper prism changes the direction of the rays by 90° and directs them into the objective lens of the observer. The lenses project the image of the objects onto the photocathodes of the electro-optical image converters. Infrared rays incident on the photocathode cause the emission of electrons which accelerate and direct their motion in the electrostatic field created between the photocathode and the shield. In this way, the infrared rays are transformed into visible radiation by the shield. The intensity of the glow of the shade depends on the flux intensity and the velocity of the electrons incident on the shade. In this way, a visible image of the observed objects can be obtained.
The TVNO-2 infrared telescope can be used in combat or marching position. In the combat position, it is inserted into the driver's daily observation instrument aperture. In the marching position, when the driver's hatch is open, it is mounted on a removable bracket in front of the hatch.
