Type 75 (14,5 mm protilietadlový guľomet)

Type 75 - 14.5 mm anti-aircraft machine gun
In the 1970s, the Chinese Land Forces (PLA) planned to arm motorized battalions with 14.5 mm anti-aircraft machine guns. A prerequisite for development was that the weapon be portable by soldiers between firing positions
The Type 75 was developed based on the 14.5 mm four-barrelled Type 56 machine gun, using only one barrel. Compared to its predecessor, it is mounted on a tripod, has an improved sight and a much reduced weight of only 140 kg, allowing the operator to transport it.
To improve mobility, a modification of the Type 75-1 was developed in 1983, equipped with a two-wheeled chassis allowing the weapon to be towed behind a car.
Neither the Type 75 nor the Type 75-1 were introduced in the PLA in large numbers.
