The cannon was developed from 1925 and completed in 1930. During the tests it was found that the chosen concept was unsuitable and therefore it was not introduced or produced, only prototypes (the number is unknown) were produced for tests with troops. The competition was won by a competing design by Krupp, the 7.5 cm Flak L/60, which was produced in smaller numbers for the Navy and for export.
