Opel Blitz - identifikace

This ambulance stands in the Transport Museum in Bratislava. Behind the window there is an information board that identifies it as Opel Blitz, year of production 1939. Is it really so? Or is it something else entirely?

It could be an Opel Blitz. Apart from the popular three-tonne there was also a much smaller version with a payload of 1 - 1,5 tonnes, this one matches it quite well, do you have a photo where you can see the radiator grille? The bodywork was often done outside the factory so it's hard to tell in a side view. (the factory only supplied the chassis with the engine and bonnet - without the driver's box)

The Opel Blitz is not a specific vehicle but a series of fast (civilian) trucks developed by Opel and put on sale around the mid-1930s. In our country this name is often related to a three-tonne which is not quite correct, after the name there should be a number that indicates the load capacity and other things, I once photographed a similar car in Overloon (it is also a 1.5-tonne Opel Blitz but against the more famous three-tonne type it is smaller overall). The wheels and the shape of the front end match the Opel, if the radiator grille also matches it would probably confirm that it is an Opel Blitz in some body modification. The three-tonne was used a lot by the army (correctly there is also a letter S after the name for rear-wheel drive cars - strasse - or A for cars produced and developed for the army, i.e. Allrad 4x4)

Granit má začátek masky přibližně na úrovni osy předních kol (podle toho je ho snadné poznat jde jen o masku motor na rozdíl od oplu je vzduchem chlazený) navíc maska je kolmá (podobné jsou spíše některé mercedesy).

This is the ancestor. Something was wrong that a "smaller" Blitz was also made, I just wasn't sure, and the mask was familiar too. Otherwise I was squirming like a pargrapher when I took the photo, those cars are close to the wall and crammed together, I had to look at the guardrail . In the photo in the gate post, the Prga RN bus that is there now wasn't still standing in front of the ambulance.

Here is Granite for comparison. As I've written before, he was probably in some movie, that "camouflage" is horrible. How much nicer would he be as an Afrikakorps ambulance...

Well the arrow mark on the hood is clear (missing the opel blitz inscription but that's pretty common). I think the unit is in this picture

So now I'm clear. I've seen pictures of these 1 tonners somewhere, I just don't know where anymore. That's what was familiar to me. Colleagues, thanks for your cooperation.
