The DPM carries the British pattern 1958 carry system, with large canvas Sten submachine gun magazine pouches in the front and larger pockets on the sides. The soldier in the background has the same gear arrangement, the field bottle was carried in a fully enclosed holster on the 1958 carry system, resembling the magazine pouches.
