TIFV

In the fall of 1987 announced the Turkish ministry of defence tender for a new infantry fighting vehicle. Into bankruptcy has engaged the German company Krauss-Maffei, the british GKN Sunkey and the american FMC Company. The winner eventually became the american society, that the tender involved with type AIFV. In may 1988, was concluded between the FMC Company and a Turkish company Nurol contract, on the basis of which was formed the joint firm, FNSS, whose stuff was produced in license for 1 700 vehicles AIFV. According to the contract should be the total produced 650 vehicles in the version of the BVP, 830 as an armored truck, 170 self-propelled mortars and 48 missile tank destroyers. The first machine was the armament of the Turkish army implemented between the years 1991 and 1992.

For the Turkish license version is used for marking the TIFV (Turkish Infantry Fighting Vehicle).

The vehicle is based on the type of M113, with whom he shares a substantial part of the parts. The chassis is made up of five traversing the wheels, drive around to the front and stretching the back, is provided with guide pulleys.
The driver sits in the left front of the hull, engine-transmission with the powertrain, Detroit Diesel 6V53T is to the right of it. The commander of the vehicle sits right behind the driver. Tower (for versions R and BVP) is a classic, slightly to the right, the space of the swarm fills the rear part of the hull. Vehicles are standard equipped with filtorventilačním device.
