- graduated from the Higher Industrial School of Construction in Prague
- 1910 - 14 technical officer of the City Hall. Prague
- mobilized at the beginning of World War I, went to the Russian front, where he was captured by the Russians on 14 September 1915
- On 15 February 1916 he joined the legions and was assigned to the 6th Haná Rifle Regiment, on 8 June he was appointed commander of the 4th Company, on 24 July commander of the 10th Company and on 12 August commander of the NCO School
- In the fighting at Bachmač he was commander of an important section on the line Česnokovka - Doč and after the wounding of Sgt. Kadlec he commanded the northern front
- 25.5.1918 he became commander of the staff train of the 6th Haná Regiment, participated in the fighting at Marjanovka, from 27.10. deputy commander of the officer school of the Czechoslovakia. army in Russia
- after returning to Czechoslovakia he graduated in 1922 from the Military Academy in Prague, 20.9.1922 he was appointed deputy of the military academy in Hranice na Moravě, 1.10.1923 chief of staff of the 7th Infantry Division in Olomouc, 1.10.1925 commander of the 27th Regiment in Olomouc, 1.1.1927 commander of the 14th Regiment in Olomouc, 1.1.1927 commander of the 14th Infantry Division in Olomouc. 1.7.1935 he was transferred to Turčiansky Svatý Martin as commander of the VII. army corps, at the beginning of 1938 transferred as commander of the VII. army corps to Banská Bystrica

- he sought to unite all the resistance elements and the result was the establishment of the ÚVOD in the spring of 1940.
- He was arrested on 31.12.1941, according to some sources on the basis of the betrayal of Professor Ladislav Vanek - Jindra
- until September 1942 he was imprisoned at Pankrác, then transferred to Dresden and after 14 days to Berlin - Plötzensee, where he was sentenced to death and executed
