Otto Günsche enters as a 16-year-old volunteer in " Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler". As a member of the " Führerbegleitkommando" in 1936, he came in close proximity to Adolf Hitler . This is followed by training in the SS-Junkerschule in Bad Tölz and deployment to the front within Waffen-SS.
Since January 1943, Günsche has been Hitler's personal aide, initially only a representative. After another six months on the front, where he fought as a company commander in the tank division of the SS-Leibstandarte "Adolf Hitler", Günsche officially joined Hitler's personal SS adjutants on February 6, 1944. In the assassination of Hitler on July 20, 1944, SS-Hauptsturmführer Otto Günsche is slightly injured. In mid-January 1945, accompanied Hitler to his Berlin bunker and was with Hitler on his last visit to the front in early March 1945 on the Oder. After Hitler's suicide, it is Otto Günsche who burns his body in the garden of the Reich's office ( Reichskanzlei). He then manages to escape from the besieged building together with Hitler's personal secretary Gerda Christian. Shortly afterwards, he was taken prisoner by the Russian, from where he was released on May 2, 1956. He remained a worshiper of Hitler until his death.
