Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi appointed on Saturday the presidential decree lieutenant general Muhammad Farid Hegazi new chief of the general staff of the armed forces. Existing NGŠ lieutenant general Mahmoud Ibrahim Hegazi was in office from march 2014. Now he was appointed the president's advisor for strategic planning and crisis management. The new chief has a degree in military science at the Military academy. He has served as deputy minista defense.
