Jihovýchodopacifické theater of war was more or less an inactive theater of war of world war ii. This was the area of the Pacific bounded on the east shores of the south american states and in the west 100. meridian of west longitude. The northern border was formed by the southern shores of the central american states and liniií between this bank and the point in which it intersects the 100. meridian west longitude and 10. parallel north latitude.

It was a part of the zone of responsibility of the united states. Theater of war referred to as Jihovýchodopacifická area was represented by Hq jihovýchodopacifické area (Southeast Pacific Area, SEPA). The first commander was rear admiral Abel T. Bidwell. At the same time, he commanded the Jihovýchodopacifickému clusters (Southeast Pacific Force), which consisted of several ships, mainly light cruisers and toprédoborců, and formed the main part of operating forces of the SEPA. The main tasks of the headquarters, respectively, of the group, was the capturing and disposal of commercial ships, which would directly or indirectly traded with the enemy, the protection of its own communication routes through the provision of accompanying escort and destruction of any attacking vessels of the enemy, the support units protecting the panama canal and the promotion of the interests of spojenecých forces in states, which are located on the western shore of South America.
