In connection with the development of self-propelled guns D-10 and D-11 by the designer Dyrenko,the project of the armored personnel carrier D-14 arose.The chassis of an ordinary civilian Kommunar tractor was used as the basis.The machine was capable of transporting a squad of 15 men.They had three entry doors on each side to enter and exit the vehicle.The vehicle's crew consisted of a driver and a commander.
The armament of the armoured vehicle consisted of two DT machine guns of 7.62mm calibre,for which 4 rounds were created,one in the front armour of the superstructure,one in the rear armour and one in the sides of the superstructure.At the same time the crew could conduct fire through the openings in the entrance doors.This machine also underwent tests with its contemporaries the D-10 and D-10 at the Kubinka polygon near Moscow.The tests turned out equally bad.The same shortcomings as the self-propelled guns were revealed.The project was cancelled and the machine ended up in scrap.
