From the spring of 1938, took place in the northern border region of Hungary, recruitment to the dobrovoleckých gard Szabadczapatok – also known as the Rongyos Gárda (Garda in rags). The total number was around 4 thousand men.
Action: at the Beginning of October it was decided to proceed with the action and lead to the impression that Podkarpatska Rus is unhappy and wants to connect to Hungary. 9.10.1038 at the railway station of Borzhava, southeast of Berehova seized approximately ninety guardsmen of a passenger train, killed a Czech conductor and damaged rail equipment. Then the group progressed to Mukachevo. This group was 11. October surrounded near the village of Dercen (Drisina) 12 km to the south of Mukachevo. Minor clashes occurred also near the village of Goronda, west of Mukacheve. The fight with the guards culminated 1.11.1938 after their night crossing of the border near the village of Kosino. It was the strongest group, and the czechoslovak party to fight put on even armored cars and tanks. Only in the morning hours managed to clean up the partially destroyed village of Dercen and capture the forty guardsmen. Almost a day was fought near the village of Freedom lying on the railway track east of in chop. Another clash took place in Slovakia at the railway station and the Royal Chlumec. Frequent were the inroads of the railway line Košice-Čop_Berehovo, head along the state border with Hungary.
Pretty was in the fighting captured 305 of the Hungarian guards of 24 officers and 62 non-commissioned officers in reserve. The exact number of the fallen is not known, but among them was one of the commanders M. Prém. The prisoners were trapped on mukačevském the castle Palanok, hence they were relocated to Slovakia to the prison Ilava and after the occupation of southern Slovakia were handing back to Hungary.
Their opponent were outside of the departments of the SOS, the gendarmes and financů departments of the czechoslovak 46. infantry division.
