Bishop's Court
It is a diverse set of buildings. The oldest one is documented as early as 1352, when it was the site of the provost's office of the Brno chapter, which was bought in the 16th century and subsequently expanded in the Renaissance style by Bishop Stanislav II. Pavlovský, then Cardinal František of Ditrichštejn. Since 1818, the František Museum, whose direct successor is the Moravian Museum, had its first seat here. In the 19th century it was extended for museum purposes by the so-called d'Elvert wing. In the 20th century, the museum even owned a Capuchin monastery, but it was returned to the church in 1990.
