The term Detachment in the u.s. armed forces indicate different-sized units. Can go about the formation approximately at the level of the platoon, but also about the formation corresponding approximately to the battalion. Some of the units referred to have even the character of the formations at the brigade level.

The czechoslovak first republic army used in the air force, word detašmán. This was an ad hoc formation by varying the number of aircraft that operate out of the parent base. Today we would probably call the detachment. In English we translate it as Detachment.

For the Czech Fire rescue service of the Urban Search and Rescue Team translates as Search and rescue detachment in populated areas. His next breakdown depends on whether it is broadcast HUSSAR or MUSAR (Heavy USAR Medium USAR)..
