Hello and I need help finding this village where my grandfather's brother was killed. Somehow I can't find it in the available maps.

Thanks for the opinion, but that's what it says on the death certificate at VHU. I might add that he was a private in the 24th regiment.

Or it may be a contemporary name that has not survived, or a corruption of the name.

considering the number of existing villages, I rather guess at the collocation ... in the archive cards they were able to make mistakes even in the official names of the decorations, so I would not be surprised if somebody made a mistake while transcribing or filling in the name of the village where the battle was fought ...

Date of death is 9.9.1914, he was buried on the battlefield.
