Mycenae

It is located about 90 km southwest of Athens.
Part of the castle at Mycenae there are two shaft deathly circuits – the so-called grave circle "a" And "B". These are of greater age than the Mycenaean castle, but are incorporated. In these graves were in 16. century bc. n. l. buried the rulers of Mycenae. The burial site was more extensive, but the construction of the castle their part ceased to exist. Older circuit "B", which lies outside his own castle, was discovered in the 50's. years of the 20th. century, the oldest graves come from medium-heladského period, in total there was 24 people in 14 shafts. These individuals were lavishly equipped with bronze swords, daggers, knives, gold and silver cups, other jewelry, and was found one mask from elektra. Circuit "a" is younger, but also richer. I mean, it was at 14 funerals uncovered only 6 shafts, but the list of findings is very comprehensive. One of the richest tombs contained several hundred objects including 2 gold crowns, 8 golden diadems, nearly 30 bronze swords, 5 gold and 10 silver vases, a plethora of other items from precious metals, bronze, alabaster, faience, ivory, baltic amber, etc. the most Beautiful and the most famous findings, however, are undoubtedly the 3 golden masks, the discoverer of the circle "And" H. Schliemann (a Team of authors, 358), after their discovery telegraphed to the Greek king George I., he looked up into the face of king Agamemnon (however, these visiting team's findings have shown a much older time of Agamemnon) (Free 7). The shaft in the two circles were on the surface of the marked stone stélami (rectangular plate built in height), most often decorated with embossed ornaments or scenes of hunting, racing, war, and fights animals, do not contain, however, no inscriptions (KA, 358)..
