1942

Squadron continue its raids on the continent. In the night from 24. on at 25.04 unit celebrated the year of the operational deployment event in Rotterdam all the crews squadron. In may and June, the company also participated in the raids 1000 aircraft on Cologne and Bremen. Due to the loss of the crew usually flew without a second pilot. In the second half of the year were its role mainly the bombing of the ruhr region and laying min in the ports of France after Helgoland.
Squadron passed the 587 operational flights in the length of 3273 hours.
And in this year, the squadron suffered heavy losses. Outside of the fallen and wounded many airmen went into captivity. A few managed to escape from prison camps or hospitals and return back to the Kingdom. This happiness, however, not F/O To. Pawluk and F/Lt And. Kiewnarski, who in 1944 participated in the famous "Great escape" from the camp of Stalag Luft III in Saganu. Both of them were caught and murdered.
As a member of the crew of the squadron perished also the Polish commander of the base Lindholme G/Cpt With. Skarżyński, who often participated in combat missions as a gunner.
