Italian police on Friday took on the island of Sardinia and in the other seven Italian provinces of an extensive crackdown aimed at members of the islamist terrorist cell alleged to have planned an attack against the pakistani government.
The group is connected to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, its members are Pakistanis and Afghans. Some of them are suspected of involvement in several attacks in Pakistan.
From the wiretaps, which gathered by the investigators, shows that in the group was a suicide bomber and that the terrorists had in addition to the attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan plan to attack in the Vatican.
On the basis of 18 issued arrest warrants, the police arrested 10 suspects, including the alleged spiritual leader of the group, several other members said but I left Italy.
