In Germany was put into operation the first radar station Ground Master 400

Multinational company Thales Raytheon Systems has informed that the 7.November 2013 was launched the first radar station Ground Master 400 (GM 400) in the assembly of military air forces of Germany.

Total will be built 6 of these radars, that provides radar surveillance of the airspace of Germany from the North sea to the Alps.

Ground Master 400 (GM 400) will replace the now outdated RLS Thomson-CSF MPR, which are in operation since 1970.

All six of the CRL will be put into operation by the end of 2015.

"We are very pleased with the operational implementation of radar equipment into permanent operation. Station GM 400 is a real breakthrough in technology, provides a better shooting area, more effectively detects low flying targets and is easier to operate. Our operators highly evaluate the parameters and capabilities of the new radar equipment", said the head of the department of terrestrial systems of the company Horst Minning.
