Robot WildCat is produced in the framework of the grant of the development agency of the u.s. armed forces DARPA, which is in charge of risk and advanced research. The design is based on the older machine Cheetah (Cheetah), also made by Boston Dynamics, which is currently the fastest running robot with a record of over 45 kilometers per hour.
The WildCat is significantly slower, yet achieves a speed of only around 25 kilometers per hour, but on the other hand, it is thanks to the combustion engine substantially more independent.
Another prototype Boston Dynamics is developing in cooperation not only with DARPA, but also even the united states marine corps. It's about a machine called BigDog that has to serve as a means of transport for the transport of goods in the field neprůjezdném for other types of vehicles.
In its current form should be for approximately 24 hours to overcome the 20 miles in the field with a load of around 200 pounds.
