In the night from 23. 24. August died in Afghánistánu chorąży (ensign) Mirosław Łucki, a member of the troop units of the seals (Jednostka Wojskowa Komandosów).
This occurred at a time when the Polish commandoes supported the afghan police counter-terrorism section, who had to destroy stockpiles of explosives intended for the manufacture of IEDS. During the event there was an explosion of the pitfalls that wounded several Afghans and three Polish soldiers. The place was immediately called a helicopter to evacuate the wounded. Ensign Łucki was transportovan to the hospital in the Polish base in Ghazni province, but despite effective care of doctors of his injuries he succumbed to. The other soldiers should be out of danger.
Chorąży Mirosław Łucki died at the age of 38 years old and left behind a wife and son. In the army since 1997 and has participated in several overseas missions, including in Iraq.
