18.06.2013 - Afghánské bezpečnostní síly převzaly od NATO odpovědnost za svou zemi

The transfer of security control to the afghan army and police began in the province of Bámján in the summer of 2011. Among the last areas where the Afghans took over from the International forces on assistance of safety in Afghanistan (ISAF), responsible, inter alia, the 13 districts in Kandahar province which is the cradle of the Taliban, and after the 12 districts in the provinces of Khost, nangarhar province and Paktika, all bastions of the rebels near the border with Pakistan.
Foreign troops now will perform just solely supportive role and help with the training. By the end of 2014, NATO will gradually all their soldiers download.
On this occasion, announced the us department of defense for Afghanistan purchases in Russia, 30 transport helicopters MI-17.


The ceremonial gathering in Kabul, attended by the leaders of Afghanistan and NATO, including president Hamid Karzai and the head of the Alliance Anders Fogh Rasmussen, was preceded by a suicide attack in the western part of the metropolis.
