The largest aviation museum in Ankara and the second largest in Turkey. The main exposure in the open air consists of approximately 35 aircraft, in the vast majority of it's military jet machines serving in the Turkish air force. In the main building is a small exhibition of historical photographs, aviation armament, several small arms and aircraft Miles Magister. In addition to the main building is in the grounds of the museum even a small house, in which are the front part of the aircraft, T-33A and F-5A, the cabins can be viewed from a wooden observation deck. The outside is also exposed to several guns and anti-aircraft weapons. Descriptions only in Turkish.
The museum is located on the outskirts of the air base Etimesgut in the western part of Ankara, where we get after Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv (Istanbul Yolu), the entrance to the museum is from the side of the road Etimesgut-Sasmaz Yolu. On the way back to Ankara after Istanbul Yolu not far from the museum we will be on your right hand another air zálkadnu - Güvercinlik. Behind the fence is see several of the exhibited aircraft and helicopter, maybe there's a way somehow, but unfortunately I already ran out of time.
A little something to the exposed exhibits. To great temptations include the two-seat TF-102A Delta Dagger (in Istanbul is exposed to a single seater). Foreign air force represent three pieces - a Hungarian MiG-21BIS, Bulgarian air force MiG-17F (apparently the replacement for the Turkish Starfighter in Plovdiv?) and the pakistani Šenjang J-6. An interesting feature is the aircraft AK-1, which recalls the old Bleriot in the modern coat. It was a project of the Turkish air force called "Golden Wings", when two of these golden, the newly built aircraft a la Bleriot taken in 2001, flew from Istanbul through Damascus to Cairo, and while in honor of the memorable flight of the year 1914, which, however, at the time ended tragically and he died in it aviator, Fethi (that is, to this day the Turkish hero and named after him, e.g. the famous resort of Fethiye). Fethi, a pioneer aviatiky in Turkey, then pohusil about flew to Cairo with his assistant Sadikem in Bleriotu XI/B, the second aircraft Deperdussin piloted by aviator Nuri, an assistant was Ismail Hakki. Due to bad weather, however, both the planes after the way she crashed, killing all except Ismail Hakkiho.
What concerns drawn PZL P.24A, I had come to the museum with the information that this machine, while not all original, but that is put together from several wrecks and some of the parts were made new. Well, it's a rarity, why not - I said optimistically. When I saw in real life that the ankara P.24, I was mildly disappointed. It is only an imitation, a couple of metal plates bent and sbouchaných so that from a distance resembled a P.24. If any part of this creation of the original, I don't know, however, no it doesn't feel so. It's all about needless to say, judge for yourself from the photos..
