The M-24 is the first post-war missile system introduced into the armament of the Soviet army. The system, initially using 2 types of unguided missiles caliber 240 mm was designed to replace the M-31 system.
It was designed to destroy the fortified strongholds of the enemy, the destruction of firing positions of mortar and artillery units, as well as areas of concentration of manpower and combat equipment.

The M-24 was intended as an armament for artillery units of rifle and mechanized corps (the unit armed with the M-24 system usually had 54 launchers BM-24).

Rocket launchers were deployed in combat, for example, on the side of Egypt during the Yom Kippur War in 1973.

Query

Is it a rocket launcher, where rockets flew from such "wire cages" (figuratively speaking) during firing? I'm not exactly an expert on this weapon, but I did not find many good pictures of this weapon on the Internet. It was probably not in the armament in the Czechoslovak Army, or am I wrong?
Would it be possible to place a good photo of this device here? From a design point of view, it's quite interesting. What was the range and how effective was it? According to the data, it was supposed to be a contemporary of our 130 RM vz. 51.
Thank you.

M-24 is the designation of the entire system (rocket launcher + missiles + support elements). The actual rocket launcher has the designation BM-24 and is processed in a separate topic - rockets are actually placed in such cages. It is a contemporary vz.51. I don't think it was introduced in ČSLA, even if its adaptation to our chassis would be achieved ( BM-24 on the chassis T-111, or PV3S) would probably be introduced probably.
