The poles were not the first, who from Afghanistan brought FT-17. In front of them out of obtained FT-17 also the Americans and the French.
Just report about the machines found the Americans to encourage the Poles to a more intensive search of the FT-17 in Afghanistan. Apparently, they are machines that were made just for Poland and participated in the Soviet-Polish war. Russia (Soviet union) some of the machines seized and several of them subsequently pay the then emir of Afghanistan.
This tank was this year found in the premises of the Ministry of national defence of Afghanistan, where it is preserved also because of his relative unavailability on this site.
Was subsequently initiated diplomatic negotiations, which, after an interview with the Polish president Bronisław Komorowského with afghan president Hamídem Karzai during assembly of the united nations 26. September, resulted in the donation of a tank to Poland.
A formal transfer was executed 20. October in Kabul.
The Tank was upon arrival transferred to the Center of training of land forces in the Poznan, where will take place its reconstruction.
