In 1940, a requirement was made for the design of an armoured vehicle intended for anti-tank and anti-aircraft defence (tank fighter and anti-aircraft tank), which was to carry a licensed 80mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun. The project was handled by the designer Szebeny György.
The vehicle was actually intended to be a Nimrod with a lafeted 80 mm calibre gun. According to the designers' ideas, the vehicle was to be protected by 10-30 mm armour, it was to carry 100 rounds of ammunition and the total weight of the vehicle was to be around 13 tons. The high cost of the vehicle, coupled with first deliveries not expected until late 1944, was unacceptable and the project was cancelled in 2/1942.
