During its several years of existence, the CZ 2000 type weapons successfully passed two military tests.
Manufacturer - Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod subjected prototypes of two weapons to military tests
different calibers - 5.45 mm and 5.56 mm. In the following article I will describe the construction, properties and especially
combat parameters of the set CZ 2000 caliber 5.56 mm. This caliber is standard on weapons used in
armies of the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Description of weapons

CZ 2000 is a set of three universal weapons - two types of short submachine gun and hand machine gun, which
use the experience from a number of automatic weapons of an individual used in the armament of the Army of the Czech Republic - 7.62 mm
submachine gun vz. 58, 7.62 mm universal machine gun vz. 59 and 7.65 mm submachine gun vz. 61. The designers used
in the development of this set of experience in the manufacture and use of automatic weapons of this category not only
at home, but also in the world.

All three weapons are characterized by simple construction, easy operation, maintenance and usability
at temperatures from -50 to + 50 ° C. The listed features, low weight and small recoil make shooting from
CZ 2000 weapons very accurate and comfortable. The value of usability is also increased by relatively small ones
outline dimensions of all three weapons.

Design possibilities of weapons

The versatility of CZ 2000 weapons is due to the fact that most parts of individual weapons are the same, with the exception of
barrel and accessories. All weapons have a folding shoulder rest and are designed to z
they could be fired from the vehicle. Shooting can be conducted in three different ways - individually
wounds, doses or 3 morning doses using a dose limiter. The method of shooting is chosen by the shooter
by means of a shift lever, the other function of which is to secure the weapon against unintentional firing
for example, in the event of a stock impact. Ammunition is fired from double-row plastic when firing
magazine with a capacity of 30 pcs using a compression spring. For shooting and moving the breech is the same as for
previous weapons of this category used the pressure of gases created by the combustion of the powder charge,
the return spring to the front position is ensured by a return spring. The locking of the charge chamber is solved
rotating bolt, the trigger mechanism is a hammer.

Aimed shooting from CZ 2000 weapons is enabled by mechanical dioptric sights - a sight placed in
bow carriers at the end of the barrel and adjustable sight after 100 m. They allow very accurate aiming of the weapon
to the goal day and night. Shooting at night and in low visibility is made possible by lighting points located on
sights. The effective range of submachine guns is 800 m and a hand-held machine gun 1000 m.


The construction of the submachine guns allows the use of a bayonet or bipod from below in the front part of the barrel.
Another additional device, which can be attached to the submachine gun using special brackets, is
suspended grenade launcher. According to the customer's request, it is possible to supply a submachine gun with a special bar on
mounting an optical sight for shooting at night. The hand-held machine gun has this bar and a bipod
part of the weapon.

In 1989 the military tests of the LADA set in 5,45x39 calibre were successfully carried out and at the meeting of the Council of National Defence in autumn 1989 (I don't remember the exact date) it was decided to introduce it into the CSLA armament as a replacement for Sa vz.58, Sa vz.61 and partly for UK vz.59.
