VPL-30 frequency converter
(Преобразователь переменно-постоянного тока ВПЛ-30 )
Frequency converter
Is an electrical device - a rotary frequency converter of a 3-phase network from 50 Hz to 390 Hz (theoretically 400 Hz) for powering radars or other Soviet-made radio equipment.
The unit consists of a "driving" asynchronous motor 3x 380 V/50 Hz - 42 kVA on a common shaft with a "driven" generator 3x 220V/400 Hz with an isolated centre, (protection by earthing) with a power of 30 kW (GOST standard).
The equipment included a control panel.
The inverter was mounted either directly into the "source" cars or trailers.
For example on a single-axle trailer 1-AP-1,5
Source.
