Uniformy SS/SD/Gestapa

Diskuse

Dear colleagues, it is not clear to me what kind of uniforms and when to wear Allgemeine-SS, Waffen-SS, SD, Gestapo, etc.

I stumbled on information that the gray uniforms were abolished before the beginning of the war, the other source says the opposite, etc.

Thank you for the answers..

As far as I know, the SS wore exclusively black uniforms with all manner of streamers, then also grey, the Waffen - SS the normal grey(or camouflage),otherwise don't know much about, even the gestapo,it was a long coat and a hat deep in his face :)but Hitler's personal strážm had at the end of the war in the photographs of gray uniforms,so to me it doesn't.

He is the fundamental difference between the solemn (black) and field (grey or camouflage) uniform. The GESTAPO normally no uniform wore (it's hard to expect that the SECRET police went in uniform). Bullshit about kožeňáku and the hat is from a demented communist films..

Members of the Gestapo, as part of the security police (SIPO), were in the case of admission to the SS were included in the units of the SD, ie in the security service of the Reich SS leader, a kind of SS elite. Therefore, also in the case of SIPO, there was no pressure to join the ranks of the SS, as in the protective police. That is, not all members of the Gestapo were members of the SS at the same time, usually, of course, involved lower personnel. Externally, however, this was not very recognizable, because members of the Gestapo, as well as members of the criminal police, could wear SS uniforms in their service, even when they were not members of the SS. The Gestapo wore SS ranks on their uniforms, which corresponded to their ranks with the security police. There were basically two uniforms, ie usually in the "domestic-Empire", black uniform SD-SS, or in the territories occupied or in war zones, the uniform, gray SD-SS with the rank of security police (these unique rank shoulder straps were introduced for SIPO in August 1942 - they were black and silver with green edging). The characteristic features of the Gestapo uniforms, similarly to the SD, are the empty right panel on the collar (up to the rank of Obersturmbannführer) and the diamond marked SD on the left sleeve (SD without hem, GESTAPO with hem). The ranks of the Gestapo were determined in two categories, the executive service itself and the administrative service. In the title of the rank, the rank of SS was then added to their rank with the police, for example: SS-Obersturmführer und Kriminalinspektor der Polizei.

I am sorry, but none of the sources you mention contains information that members of the SIPO Gestapo and the criminal police wore black uniforms while serving in the empire, which
confirmed by numerous photographs taken at that time. In this case, the mistake is constantly repeated. Most likely, the black uniforms were used in a demonstration of force and intimidation of the population and political opponents in the run-up to World War II. Black uniforms were also used in our territory shortly after the occupation of the rest of Bohemia and Moravia during the first mass arrest operation Gitter, Czech lattice in March 1939, as can be seen in period photographs.
