Annotation | In may 1967 testified egyptian president Nasser from the country of UN peacekeepers, stationed since 1957 in the Sinai peninsula. To the border with Israel, has moved a large group of troops and issued orders to the conclusion of the Tirana strait in order to block the israeli port of Eilat. These were the steps that could be interpreted as overt preparations for war. In early June, therefore, the israeli government decided to these threats to respond. The israeli air force has carried out successful pre-emptive strike, in the course of which it was virtually the entire egyptian air force destroyed on the ground. Once managed to carve out a dominion in the air, put in motion a column of israeli tanks, advancing into the depths of the Sinai peninsula. In just five days to cast the egyptian troops back to the Suez canal. This is a report about the course of the sinai campaign, one of the most daring and at the same time, even the most successful operations of modern military history. The publication includes a DVD with film the six day war. |
