The Pentagon announced today the approval of a new bronze star for pulling on the ribbon of the Medal for the afghan campaign (Afghanistan Campaign Medal - ACM). Soldiers are authorized to wear on the ribbon of the bronze stars for each specific stage of the campaign. Previous stages: Liberation Of Afghanistan - 11.9.2001 - 30.11.2001 Consolidation I - 1.12.2001 - 30.9.2006 Consolidation II - 1.10.2006 - 30.11.2009 Consolidation II - 1.12.2009 - 30.6.2011
The current stage has the name of the Transition I and is calculated from 1.7.2011. The end will be determined at a later date.
